What is 4-H?
Our Mission:
To provide Hays County youth, families, and communities with educational programs to create environments for diverse audiences of youth and adults to reach their fullest potential. In support of this mission, we:
- Provide Community-Based Experiential Learning
- Help Youth Develop Skills That Will Benefit Them Throughout Life
- Foster Leadership and Volunteerism
- Strengthen Families and Communities
Our Vision:
Through Hays County 4-H, youth will feel valued and empowered as a community resource, practice practical decision-making skills, feel personal pride from achievement, and be environmental stewards.
Our Focus:
Hays County 4-H focuses on three mission mandates:
- Citizenship
- Empower youth to be actively engaged in their communities
- Healthy Living
- Youths learn the importance of physical, mental, and emotional health
- Science and Technology
- Provide hands-on activities for youth to expand their knowledge in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics
Involvement:
Youth ages 8 by Aug 1st and the 3rd grade through 12th grade can be 4-H Members
Youth ages 5 to 7, most clubs offer a noncompetitive program called Clover Kids
Adult Volunteers and Extension Educators who work for AgriLife Extension Office, supervise all 4-H activities

Youth enrollment is $25 until October 31st | November 1st and beyond is $30 – Re-enrollment is required every 4-H Year (September- August)
Clover Kids Enrollment is $10 per 4-H year
Adult Volunteers may also register for a $10 enrollment fee
