Who must attend Validation?
Families who plan to show livestock at the Hays County Livestock Show or any Major Shows.
Below are the attendance combination that are allowed for validation:
Parent + Exhibitor(s) + Animal(s)
Parent + No Exhibitor(s) + Animal(s)
Exhibitor (s) + Parental Waiver + Animal(s)
What to expect at Validation?
Filling out paperwork
You may fill out the Ethics Policy and the Parental Waiver, however the validation forms must be completed in person at the time of the animal is validate.
Declare Market or Breeding of animal being validated
Validation Committee will tattoo the County number in one of the ears, a uniquely- numbers tag will be placed in an ear, hair sample will be pulled for DNA purposes and nose print for sheep.
Validation Committee will NOT make individual house calls for validation, all showing families must be present on the schedueld Validation date.
For the safety of the Animal and Validation Committee, animals will NOT be validated in a trailer.
Trailers must be in line by the designated time frame advertised for Valdiation.
What to bring Validation?

Breeding Registration Documentation Requirements:

Registration papers are required to validate all breeding animals. Breeding Animals must be registered to ONLY the intended exhibitor, this does not include siblings, parents, grandparents or any other name. Carry registration papers to validation & shows.
Paperwork:
Paperwork can be filled out in advance, however not required.
Ethics Policy: (1) Per ExhibitorParental Waiver (1) Per Exhibitor
Only Required if Parent will not be present
Required if Validation will occur at FFA Barn
Note: Breeding Sheep and Goats roll over validation for three years, they do not need to be validated every year.

Validation does not enter your 4-Her into shows, all shows have separate entriesĀ
